So, I bit the bullet and today, through the horrible monsters at Wal-Mart, I bought myself a massive Nintendo Wii bundle. After shipping and handling, it comes out to cost just slightly over $725. Yeah, I know, I blew a LOT of money, but I also get a LOT of goodies on the side. Check it out.
Nintendo Wii Customer Choice Bundle
Nintendo Wii Console
DreamGear Cooling Stand 4-in-1 Wii
Wii Remote Controller
Wii Nunchuk Controller
Mario Party 8
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
NBA Live 08
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Fire Emblem
Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga
This is all thanks to the magic of the website Nintendo Wii Tracker. I've been watching the site for about two weeks now, just hoping to get lucky and find some online retailer with Wiis in stock, and today, luckily, I found one. After a little debate with myself as to whether or not I wanted to drop a whole paycheck on the system with all those games, I realised most of the games were ones I'd want to buy anyway, so I held my nose and jumped on it.
If you got your Wii, how'd you swing it? Did you pick up a bundle pack like I did? Do you have any recommendations for games?

Holy Smokes! That is a lot of money! It is definitely worth it, as long as you aren't going to have to move out of your house to pay for it!!
We got the wii last Mother's Day for... me! We got it through Craig's List. We had to pay about $30 extra bucks for it, and it came with the Wal-mart receipt and everything, so I think we got a good deal.
As far as games go, I'm pretty girly about the games, but here are my list of favorites:
The Carnival Games, Mario Party, Wario Ware, and Elebits. My husband rented Godfather and loved it (he compared it to Grand Theft Auto).
So, there is my two-cents. Happy gaming! I hope you aren't too sore from boxing!!

I got mine back in the summer when my son was working at KMart. He saw they still had one left and called me and told me to get my butt to the store because he could only hold it unless someone came and specifically asked for one. I think I spent about $600-$650 at most between buying the Wii, a spare controller and nunchuk, and some games for it, but I was also lucky enough to benefit from my son's employee discount. The games we have are Wii Play, Big Brain Academy, Far Cry Vengeance, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario. I've played maybe one or two, but haven't had the time to do more than that. My son has played it more than I do. He's downloaded a bunch of games, plus he likes to throw in some of his Game Cube stuff to play on there as well. I'm thinking I might fire up my old Animal Crossing game when I finally get the time to play--at least until they come up with a version for the Wii. :)

Jade: And you also avoided the $40 I plunked down for shipping purposes, which is why mine broke $725. Plus I paid extra for the cooling stand. You'll have to give me your son's friends code so I can clobber him.
Mari: I hope I won't be! I know when I first played Wii Bowling, my arm hurt for two days afterward. I'll have to check out the Godfather game, thanks for commenting!

I called the local gaming store every day around shipment time for almost 3 weeks until I heard the words "yup, we got 5 in just now!".
No bundle, just the basics. We're slowly building our game library.
Guitar Hero was a must in our house. An extra guitar is on the list once it hits the shelves at the end of the month.
